Ford Technology

Ford's technology has these excellent critical features. Some of the features include BLIS with cross-traffic alert, which utilizes radar sensors placed on both sides of the vehicle to alert you when another driver is in your blind-spot. Cross-Traffic alert uses this radar as well, alerting you when a vehicle or object is near you as you are backing up. Lane Keep works to keep you safe while dealing with distractions via a camera that marks where the lanes are on each side of your Ford. It has three modes: Lane Keeping Aid, which uses steering torque to get you back inside the lane. Lane-Keeping Alert lets you know via steering wheel vibrations when you've gone over a line, and Driver Alert sends warnings to pull over when it detects too many lane departures.

Pre-collision with automatic emergency braking (AEB) detects potential accidents in front of you and tries to eliminate a frontal collision. AEB boosts brake assist's sensitivity when you do have to slam on the brakes. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control gives you Lane-Centric, Speed-Sign Recognition, and Stop-And-Go to enhance the regular cruise control. Just Activate Speed-Sign Recognition, set your preferred speed, and let the system automatically adjust to the speed limit signs it encounters as you drive.

Evasive Steering Assist won't steer for you, but when the system detects that you need to move around a vehicle in front of you, it will kick in to assist. Reverse brake assist alerts you to possible hazards while backing up and triggers the brakes so that you will avoid hitting anything behind you. A rear-view camera is a standard-issue on new Fords, and it can help you see what is going on behind the vehicle. Active Assist 2.0 aids in parallel and perpendicular parking by locating a spot. You shift into Neutral after coming to a stop and then holding down the Active Park Assist button. The automatic high-beams detect poor lighting conditions and switch the high-beams on as needed. When it detects better lighting, it switches them off. BLIS with Trailer Coverage helps you see what is in your blind-spot as well as alongside your trailer. It can come equipped on the Expedition, Explorer, Transit, Ranger, F-150, and Super Duty. Pro Trailer Backup Assist has you enter a few measurements into its system. Then it helps you back up safely with your trailer in tow. Finally, Hill Descent Control utilizes traction control with Anti-Lock Brakes, adjusting the brake pressure to detect slippage. It also maintains a set speed as you descend a steep hill.
